MENTAL / EMOTIONAL CLUTTER

Hello everybody,
hope you had a great summer!
I just read an inspiring article about the fact that the latest psychological research suggests that we don't actually want too much choice. Everybody who has walked into a large supermarket knows: a wide choice can become bewildering. You go into a coffee shop and it's a far cry from black/white, with/without sugar...
So therefore we feel we have to become experts in everything. We are left with even more things to worry about (if we like worrying): have we made the right choice? are we knowledgeable enough? do we have the time to do the research?.... - Being forced to choose induces a stress of its own. Apparently now there is psychological evidence that if you want to be happier, reduce the choice available to you!
So guess what great idea I'm going to come up with now :-) - yes!: that's why a good old clear out feels so up-lifting! You unburden yourself of too many choices by giving away eg. the clothes you don't like anyway, making the 'what am I going to wear?' choice so much easier!
Happy clearing.
Hope to see you at the Wanstead seminars!
Birgit
PS: I've also got events coming up in Hainault, St.Johns Wood, Highgate and the Barbican. Please get in touch if you'd like to know more or book an event local to you.
